Should Hyper-Threading be enabled or disabled?
December 19, 2023
Hyper-Threading can provide performance benefits, it's not a substitute for having physical cores. In applications like rXg where true parallel processing is crucial, having more physical cores remains an effective way to enhance performance.
If you have a machine that has 8 real cores, and 16 hyper-threaded cores, and rXg requires a minimum of 16 cores, your machine would not be sufficient. It would be recommended to upgrade to a system with 16 real cores in this case.
