Building a Cisco 9800-CL as a VM on rXg

This article assumes you are somewhat familiar with building VMs on the rXg. If not, checking some of the other available resources may help you understand the fundamentals.
Build a VM
1. Upload the .iso file to disk images.
2. Build a VM. For a lab instance, I used the following configuration:
Cores: 8
Memory: 16 GB
NICs: 3
Bootloader: UEFI
Disk: 100 GB
3. Once the VM is built, click "Install" on the VM record within the scaffold view.

Important Note
When the installer starts, you need to have an active console session. There is a prompt at the beginning that will put it in VGA mode if you don’t select serial mode. Either launch the console really quickly after powering up or keep the console open and reset the VM. If you don’t select the serial option from that menu, you will have issues.
The above-mentioned screen will appear twice. You will need to catch it both times.
If you get to this screen, wait just a bit longer and you will see the message “CLI Ready”
